The Line Between Synopsis
To their friends in San Diego, Sophie and Neil Beaumont are a successful, happy couple. One rainy night in 1987, that illusion is shattered. As Sophie struggles to pick up the pieces of her life, she doubts that the aching hole in her heart will ever heal. But everything changes when her best friend’s child, Jonathan, is born. Feeling a sense of hope, she has an intuition that he will be a beloved soul she knew in a past life. Their strong connection inspires her to embark on a journey of personal transformation that changes the course of her life.
Prior to his birth, Jonathan and his team of spirit guides create his intricate soul plan. His life purpose is to share wisdom from the spirit world with others, to help them live their lives with less suffering. However, as the result of an unexpected event, he disconnects from the spirit world, and without access to that unique knowledge he was born with, he finds himself at the mercy of his own heartbreaking struggles. His spirit team is determined to help him meet his mission—after all, people like Sophie are depending on him. But can they find a way to help him awaken?
The Line Between is an inspirational story of hope, loss, friendship, forgiveness, transformation, and eternal love. It speaks the language of the soul and reminds us to embrace all of our life experiences—the everyday routine, the miraculously mesmerizing, and the rip-your-heart-out tragic moments—as equally meaningful.
About Beverly Knauer
I grew up with my mom, dad, brother, and two sisters, in Needham, Massachusetts, then Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Other than spending hours playing in the wooded forest behind our house, what I remember the most from my early years is my desire to write; I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was ten years old, when my mother bought me the book Sal Fisher at Girl Scout Camp. I promptly began my own novel, with lined paper and fountain pen in hand, and called it Beverly Knauer at Girl Scout Camp. Okay … not very original. My next book, written at age twelve, was called My Life with the Indians.
After I received my bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, I moved to sunny San Diego, California, where I served in the role of Chief of Rehabilitation Services for the County of San Diego, working with other occupational and physical therapists who provide therapy to children with special needs. I received my master’s degree from San Diego State University.
When not writing, I enjoy wine tasting in the quaint city of Temecula, going barefoot whenever I can, spending too many hours on Pinterest, and indulging in chips, guacamole, and margaritas (frozen, with salt on the rim) while catching up with friends. I like long walks with my pal, Jack—a black Lab—along the seashore, where the crashing waves of the pummeling surf absorb the sounds of the city, providing a means of restoration and introspection, while we scavenge among the seaweed for shells for my collection. My newest passion is crocheting dog sweaters for lonely, abandoned dogs at the animal shelter.
I’ve always loved exploring esoteric wisdom and chose to become a writer to communicate transformative life experiences in the form of visionary fiction. The Line Between is my debut work. Currently, I’m finishing up my second novel, The Soul’s Hope.
